PLANS to build four new family homes in the grounds of 43 Park Avenue, Barnoldswick, have been submitted to Pendle Council.

The full application to the council includes two three-bedroom and two four-bed semi-detached homes and also the demolition of the existing garage at the site, and its replacement with a new one.

Access to the new proposed development, which is inside the conservation area, will be off the existing access off Park Avenue. All of the new properties will include parking areas, with two having integral garages.

A design and access statement submitted with the application concludes: "The proposal is a carefully considered, high quality, sustainable and contemporary response to an existing site, steeped in history and a rich local character. It seeks to not only fit in with its context but to significantly enhance it."
