TRAFFIC calming measures at the entrance to Malham are to be installed following discussions with the parish council and North Yorkshire highways.

Chicane markings on the road, next to the Yorkshire Dales National Park centre, are being funded by Mid-Craven Councillor Simon Myers locality budget and are due to go ahead before April next year.

Cllr Myers referred to the plan at a recent meeting of Gargrave Parish Council during a discussion about traffic calming measures in Gargrave.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Council said: "We are working with the parish council over a suitable scheme to be installed at the entrance to Malham by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority car park. Funding has been made available through Cllr Simon Myers locality budget. The work to implement it will be this financial year."
