THERE will be no trains or buses running on Christmas Day and Boxing Day in and out of Skipton and with a reduced service on New Year's Day.

 On Saturday, December 23, buses and trains will run to normal Saturday times; and on Christmas Eve, Sunday, there will also be a normal Sunday service, with the last buses to Skipton leaving at 2.40pm from Preston (280); 4.20pm from Ilkley (873); 4.40pm from Malham (864); and 6pm from Grassington (72). The last bus to Skipton from Burnley will set off at 6.15pm (M6), and from Keighley at 7pm (66).

Also on Christmas Eve, the last trains to Skipton will leave Carlisle at 7.11 pm; Morecambe at 8.03pm; Leeds at 8.16pm; and Bradford Forster Square at 8.48pm.

There will be no buses or trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. From Wednesday, December 27 to Friday, December 29, trains will run a normal weekday timetable, except on Wednesday when the first trains from Skipton will be at 7.01am to Leeds and 7.09am to Bradford. Craven Connection bus 580 and North Yorkshire Council minibus services will run a normal weekday timetable, while other buses will run a Saturday service, except DalesBus services 59 to Harrogate and 75 to Malham will not run.

On Saturday, December 30 - buses and trains will run to normal Saturday times. New Year's Eve, Sunday December 31, buses and trains will run a normal Sunday service with last journeys the same as on Christmas Eve, except the last train from Leeds to Skipton will leave at 7.16pm.

On New Year's Day Monday, trains will generally run a normal weekday service with the first trains from Skipton at 7.01am to Leeds and 7.09am to Bradford, but no buses will run.

Buses and trains will return to normal service on Tuesday, January 2.
