A RETROSPECTIVE application to keep a palisade fence at a terraced house in Barnoldswick is being recommended for refusal at the January meeting of the West Craven Committee of Pendle Council.
Councillors at the meeting in Barnoldswick will hear that the fence is around the front garden of 6 Cavendish Street, Barnoldswick, and that a planning application to put it up was refused in February, this year.
The fence is 2m high each side, and 1.17m at the front. An officer's report to the committee concludes: "The design and materials of the proposed fencing would be incongruous and out of character with its surrounding and the street scene. It would result in unacceptable harm to the character and visual amenity of the area and would result in poor design."
The meeting takes place at 6.45pm on January 9 at The Rainhall Centre, Barnoldswick.
