CAMPING, glamping and caravan touring sites in Craven have been announced as regional winners and runners up in the Campsites.co.uk 2023 Awards.

The annual awards highlight the best sites across the UK celebrating those which have gone above and beyond for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year.

Winners range from the simplest, tucked-away camping spots to family-friendly holiday parks with swimming pools or luxurious glamping sites.

The awards span various categories, including ‘Best Campsite’, ‘Best Glamping Site’ and ‘Most Unique Site’. Other specific categories include ‘Greener Site Award’ and ‘Best Coastal Campsite’.

The awards also spotlight the 'Best Budget Campsite', which proves that unforgettable camping memories don’t need to come with a price tag.

North East regional winners within the Craven district are: Best Campsite Award. Catgill Farm Camping and Glamping, Bolton Abbey. A former dairy farm the camping site was opened in 2014. Runner up - Orcaber Caravan and Camping Park, near Austwick. It is open all year round. Tents and tourers are welcome on a range of grass and hardstanding pitches - including fully serviced super pitches equipped with electric, freshwater tap, TV hook-up and grey waste disposal.

Best Caravan Park award. Thornbrook Barn, Ingleton. The 42-pitch site also boasts luxury glamping lodges with hot tubs. There are 12 hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up, as well as an additional 26 fully serviced hardstanding pitches. These serviced pitches come with the added extras of water supply and grey water waste.

Best Family Campsite Award. Regional winner North East, Catgill Farm Camping and Glamping. Runner up Riverside Caravan Park, Bentham.

Best Adult Only Site award. Regional runner up Wharfe Camp, Kettlewell. The site is an adult only base in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The site offers just five well-kept tent camping pitches and one hardstanding campervan pitch. There are also two cosy glamping pods. Ideal for couples or solo campers, this adult only site does not accept groups.

Top Dog Award. National award runner up, Orcaber Farm Caravan and Camping, Austwick.

The Campsite.co.uk website also lists several Craven sites within its 10 best campsites in the Yorkshire Dales. They are: Orcaber Farm, Austwick; The Dalesbridge, Austwick; Catgill Farm, Bolton Abbey; Howgill Lodge, Bolton Abbey; Wenningdale Escapes, High Bentham; Coxons Farm Glamping Pods, Cracoe.
