SKIPTON Little Theatre is presenting comedian David Baddiel's God's Dice in February.

The tragicomedy imagines the impact if the existence of God could be scientifically proven.

A spokesperson for the Little Theatre says: "This is what university student Edie seems to achieve in physics lecturer Henry Brook's class, shaking the very foundations of his life, including his marriage to Virginia, a renowned atheist writer.

"In David Baddiel's play, a fierce and humorous clash unfolds between science and religion, exploring themes of power, sex, fame, and the pursuit of followers. This electrifying tragicomedy delves into the influence of belief and our search for truth in a world divided by differing perspectives."

David Baddiel is a comedian, author, screenwriter, and television presenter who in 1992 along with Rob Newman performed for 12,500 people at Wembley arena in what was the UK's first-ever arena comedy show, earning him the accolade of transforming comedy into “The New Rock’n’Roll”. His television success includes The Mary Whitehouse Experience and Newman and Baddiel in Pieces.

He also co-created and co-hosted Fantasy Football and Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned with Frank Skinner. Their collaboration extended to songwriting, resulting in the football anthem Three Lions, in partnership with The Lightning Seeds.

God's Dice at Skipton Little Theatre plays from February 20 to February 24, evenings 7.30pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee.
