GREEN-fingered children and teenagers will be able to enter their produce in horticulture classes for the first time at this year's Kilnsey Show.

For all those keen to get an advance notice of adult handicraft, art and photography classes at the show, which takes place in August, they are now available to view on the show website.

And, also for the first time, details of horticulture classes for under-seven year old children, including a salad vegetable and three potatoes; and for eight to 16-year olds, including three tomatoes, and a green vegetable.

A show spokesperson said: "Alongside the exciting handicraft, photography and art classes for adults and over 16s, we are happy to announce the addition of children's horticulture classes to the 2024 schedule. We hope these brand new classes - for seven year olds and under, and eight to 16-year olds - will inspire a new generation of green-fingered growers."

Full class schedule and downloadable entry forms will be available from July 1.

The show, organised by the Upper Wharfedale Agricultural Society, and held in the shadow of Kilnsey Crag, is due to take place on Tuesday, August 27.
