SKIPTON'S MP Julian Smith has said he will raise issues faced by rural schools following a visit to Bradleys Both Community Primary School.
During his visit, he met up with headteacher, Barry Rogers, head of governors, Becky Stapleton, and Jo Robinson, CEO of The Yorkshire Collaborative Academy Trust, and the school's head boy.
He was shown around the school and spoke with Barry, Becky and Jo about the school’s funding concerns and their new plan for catering. He welcomed the chance to discuss their concerns and said he would make sure that his ministerial colleagues are aware of the particular challenges facing rural schools.
Mr Smith said, “It was great to meet everyone at Bradleys Both and I’m grateful to Becky for inviting me. There’s so much potential within our schools and I will continue to fight for our children to receive the best possible start in life.
"The children I met were all excellent ambassadors for their school, very polite and clearly proud of their wonderful school.”
