ENVIRONMENTAL campaigning charity Gargrave-based Friends of the Dales is holding a social event followed by a walk for people wanting to find out more about what it does.
The getting to know you event will take place at Gargrave Village Hall on Wednesday, March 6 from 11am and will include a leisurely, three mile walk into the surrounding countryside.
The charity, which has been going for more than 40 years, campaigns on issues including rural bus services, biodiversity, green lanes, pollution, farming, and landscape conservation. It also carries out sessions of removing plastic guards from tree planting projects, guided walks and talks, and comments on planning applications made in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Refreshments and a light, complimentary lunch is also available as part of the event which will run from 11am to 3pm on March 6 in Gargrave Village Hall. Book your place by emailing: victoria.benn@friendsofthedales.org.uk
