A FUNDRAISING extravaganza in Lothersdale proved a runaway success with a magnificent more than £3,600 raised for Dementia Forward and Herncliffe Care Home in Keighley.

Organised by Malcolm Smith, Malcolm's Marvellous Fundraiser was enjoyed by more than 100 residents of the village. It included a Big Breakfast in the morning, followed by an evening of entertainment featuring a quiz, bingo, an auction, music by Blair Rach Project, and a surprise appearance by a Tina Turner impersonator.

Malcolm said the causes were deeply meaningful to his wife Alison, and their family, as they aim to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by Herncliffe and the importance of supporting families affected by dementia.

He added: "I would like to thank Tesco, Morrisons, The Tipsy Club, Chris Riley, Dementia Forward, The Hare & Hounds pub, the Lothersdale Knitters for their thoughtful brooches, and everyone that provided prizes for the Bingo or raffle, Lothersdale Hall for their generous support.

He is already planning the next event later in the year, aiming to raise funds for the Lothersdale Village Hall.
