SKIPTON'S major event season kicks off with a bang on Sunday, June 2 with the hugely popular Skipton Car Show.
It will take place from 10am to 4pm, is free for visitors - but with donations welcome, to help ensure it comes back again next year.
Most of the cars and vehicles are pre-2004, although there are exceptions for special, unusual or interesting cars.
Held for the first time in 2015, the brainchild of self confessed petrol-head, Jason Smith, it was held every year, with a break in 2019, up until the Covid-19 pandemic.
The mix of vintage and classic cars and motorbikes, stalls and refreshments on the closed High Street, proved a great success, attracting thousands of visitors.
It returned last year, with a new organiser at the helm, Mark Dale from Settle, after Jason decided to hand over the organising, and once again proved a crowd-puller.
Mark, who has a lot of experience in organising events and hospitality, including being house manager at Malham Tarn Field Centre, is part of a team that runs online car clubs, running several events including drive-outs and fundraisers.
Mark is looking for volunteers to help out at the event, and sponsorship. Find out more at: https://skiptoncarshow.co.uk
