AN around four mile stretch of road between West Marton and Gargrave will be closed for two days from today (Tuesday) for re-surfacing.
The road, which passes through Little Stainton and Bank Newton, will be closed for North Yorkshire Council to carry out surface dressing.
This year, the council's annual surface dressing programme, costing £5million, started in April, finishes this month and covers 142 miles of roads.
Surface dressing is a quick, efficient and cost-effective way of maintaining skid-resistant and waterproof road surfaces, helping to prevent potholes and extending the life of the road by up to ten years.
The surface dressing programme concludes in the Skipton area including Cowling, West Marton and Cross Hills.
