AN annual fundraising golf day in memory of Skipton man Trace Aldersley has raised an amazing around £6,200 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
More than 90 people attended the 17th Silverback Golf Day which was held this year at Keighley Golf Club, Howden Park, Utley.
Organiser, Mick Riddiough, said it had been a very successful day and added: "Big thanks to Keighley Golf Club, and to all helpers and sponsors."
Winner of the Silverback Trophy and the green jacket - Trace Aldersley's Wharfedale Rugby Club blazer, was Des Martin.
Trace, who played rugby for Skipton and Wharfedale, died in 2008 at the age of 45, his friends decided to hold a golf day in his memory, and it has been going ever since The first Silverback Golf Day was held at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club in Addingham and over the years has also been held at courses including Skipton, Keighley, Kirkby Lonsdale, and also Ripon and Kendal.
Over the years, it has raised almost £60,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
