An annual festival celebrating all things vintage will return over the weekend of Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8.
The Hunton Steam Gathering, on farmland on the outskirts of Hunton in Lower Wensleydale, will celebrate more than 100 years of agricultural and motoring heritage.
Vintage and classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be displayed, including steam engines, classic motorbikes, and everything in between.
Organised by volunteers, the event, which was established in 1985, raises funds for charity and put £9,000 towards good causes after its 2023 edition.
The 37th instalment this year will see the craft and food market continue to grow alongside the vintage vehicle offering.
Regional suppliers and producers will be trading all weekend, while trade stalls will offer workwear and vintage collectables, and an auto-jumble will give the curious the chance to rummage through tools, equipment, and vehicular bits and bobs.
Vintage fairground rides will be available to try, including a big wheel, steam-powered gallopers, and chair-o-planes.
Displays by Walworth Castle Birds of Prey, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, and Pennine Carter Bernese Mountain Dogs, as well as classic car driving demonstrations, stationary working demonstrations, and children’s tug-of-war competitions, are also part of the programme.
A pair of Fowler steam-powered ploughing engines will be ploughing and cultivating the land over the weekend.
They will be accompanied by a horse ploughing demonstration and a vintage ploughing match on the Saturday.
Those camping on site on the Friday and Saturday nights will be treated to live entertainment, while catering and refreshments will be available over the weekend, including the opportunity to enjoy a full Sunday dinner.
Entry to the event is £10 for adults and £5 for children, while children under five go free.
The 70-acre site is situated five miles south of Catterick and six miles from Bedale and Leyburn, with free parking available.
