A SETTLE couple with a shared love of musicals and dancing celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a special party.
John and Helen Reid toasted the milestone at Langcliffe Village Institute on September 14, 50 years to the day since they were married.
The couple, who were wed in 1974, were joined by members of their original wedding party including the best man, maid of honour, bridesmaid, groomsmen, and ushers.
Also present were many other family and friends, who travelled from far and wide - and sometimes not so far and wide - to attend the event.
The Reids, who share a love of musicals, have been active members of the Settle Amateur Operatic Society for more than half a century. They also enjoy gardening, dancing, and travelling.
The couple credited their five decades of happy marriage to "enjoying everything in moderation."
