THE Flagcrackers of Craven, who perform the Border style of Morris dancing, are inviting newcomers to experience what is described as the "energetic stick clashing excitement" of the folk dance, during free taster sessions throughout October.
The sessions will be held at 7pm every Wednesday at the Farnhill Institute.
Members of the group also plan to take to the streets of Skipton in their kit during the month, to talk to people and share information about Morris dancing.
Squire of the side, Julie Greenwood, said: "When we’re actually performing there isn’t always much time to chat to the public about what we’re doing, so the autumn informal walkabouts give us a chance to do that.
"We are always looking to grow the side, everyone is welcome and this is the perfect time of year for newbies to join so they have several months to learn the dances ahead of the 2025 season."
This year's performances have taken the group from Gargrave to Saltburn, with a recent appearance at September's Otley Folk Festival.
