CONISTON Cold Young Farmers Club marked its milestone 90th anniversary with a celebratory dinner dance at Coniston Hotel, supported by both past and present members who shared stories about the club and its long and proud history.

Master of Ceremonies Alastair Walton shared his memories as a past member of the club, while the guest speaker was Ian Close, a past member of Upper Wharfedale Young Farmers, Yorkshire County Chairman and Northern Area Chairman.

A celebration cake was cut by the oldest past member, Sheila Stapleton, and the youngest current member at the dinner, Charlie Kimberley.

It aims to help and improve mental health in men through self-help peer-to-peer interaction.

The club meets weekly on a Tuesday, running a varied programme - from stock judging, farm walks and local business visits to craft nights, ice skating and more, all purpose-designed to teach important new skills to the younger generation.
