Twelve-year-old Robbie Ellis is making a name for himself in the world of crown green bowling.
The Aireville School pupil took up the sport at the grand age of four, following in the footsteps of his parents, Robert and Joanne Ellis, and his grandfather, David Ellis.
“He absolutely loves it,” said his proud mum. “He has just given up rugby so he can play in the winter league.”
Young Robbie, who lives in Skipton, has already won two competitions this season – the Keith Harrison summer junior event and the Ike Robinson memorial competition.
And he was runner-up in another contest at Sale, where he won a cash prize and a new set of bowls.
“I am surprised at how well he has done because he competes against adults,” said Joanne.
“He has worked his way up from Division C to Division A.”
Robbie has been playing with Cross Hills Bowling Club, but will join the Skipton-based Craven club next season.
