As the sunshine is starting to make its way through the clouds thoughts are turning to summer sports and Skipton Tennis Centre is gearing up for the new season.

Skipton Tennis Centre will be hosting a pre-season racket demonstration day and club open day on Saturday, April 3, from 10am to 1pm.

There will be over 70 rackets to try with expert advice from coaches and racket specialists.

The day is a great opportunity for anyone to go along to the centre and meet the coaching team led by Adam Cox and see what the club can offer.

The club is the home venue of the largest tennis coaching programme in Craven and is a fully Mini Tennis accredited centre.

Cox said: “The coaching programme is suitable for children and adults of all ages and abilities and is a great way to keep fit and learn new skills.

“We also have ladies’ mornings for beginners/improvers on Tuesday and Thursdays. and Skipton Tennis Centre’s coaching programme also supports tennis development in over 20 schools across Craven.”

The popular Easter holiday coaching camps will be taking place over the Easter break for 5-16 year-olds.

The first week, April 5-9 from 9am to noon, will be for 5-11 year-olds and the cost is £35.

In the second week, April 12-16, the session from 9.30am to noon, will be for 5-11 year-olds and again costs £35; while the session from 1pm to 3.30pm will be for 12-16 year-olds and again costs £35.

Skipton Tennis Centre will again be represented in the Bradford League, Wharfedale League and Junior League this summer.

The club will have two mixed doubles teams, two men’s teams, two ladies’ teams, under-15s and under-18s teams.
