Skipton Karate Centre and Skipton Karate Kids took part in a grading. Some of those taking part were very young, one only five-years-old.

Instructor Ian Spence said: “A massive well done to all but we have to make special mention of Peter Wrixon, attempting his yellow belt. Due to his excellent technique and spirit he jumped to orange belt tab. He was very impressive and this reflected in his score of 87 per cent.”

Passing to red belt (No tab system) were Nathan Appleton, Emily Peach, Hannah Done and Matthew Watson.

Those passing to orange belt tab were Peter Wrixon Jake Priestley, Varshika Selverajah, Kaitlin Wilkinson and Nheyavan Selverajah.

Passing to green belt tab were Edson Richmond, Joseph Pate, Angel Benny, Ben Cooper and Jack Scoley.

Those passing to blue belt tab were Grace Canny, Emily Howarth, Sahil Sonanis and Charlie Shuttleworth.

Passing to purple belt tab were Ben Lewis and Lucy Howarth.

Among the adults (no tab system) Matthew Watson passed to red belt while Jack Kobilecki passed to purple and Jacqui Bateson passed to brown belt 1st kyu.
