Adrian Naylor has retained his Craven ward seat on Bradford Council.
He stood as an Independent candidate after quitting the Conservative party following his failure to be reselected.
He polled 1,836 votes, while Conservative Andrew Charles Rowley received 1,204 votes. Labour candidate Val Carroll received 1,134 votes.
