Brian and Lisa Hall, of Gargrave, had a splendid day at Gisburn Auction Marts’ dairy show and sale on Thursday.
Taking both the first and second prize rosettes, their heifers sold for £2,480 and £2,420 to David Coulthurst, of Goosnargh. Fred Parkinson, of Chaigley, was unplaced in the pre-sale show, but his heifer sold to David Coulthurst for £2,450.
Andrew Slack, of Carlisle, picked up a smart heifer from WA & A Booth, of Feizor, at £2,320. The average was more than £2,000 for all 23 newly calved heifers.
