Will Best has joked he’ll take to the stage in a mankini if he makes it to Blackpool on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The Big Brother presenter, currently competing on the show with professional partner Dianne Buswell, made the cheeky promise after already dancing shirtless and in his pants during Movie Week.

Mr Best said: "Mankini? Has anyone done a mankini before?

"I have no idea what people are thinking I might wear, but I've been feeling pretty overdressed for the last few weeks.

"Let's release more buttons."

The presenter, 41, said he has been surprised by the physical demands of Strictly and has already noticed changes to his body.

He said: "My belt's a hole tighter.

"The thing I wasn't really prepared for is, obviously, the physical side of it.

"You're just sweating all day."

Despite the demanding schedule, Mr Best said he feels "incredibly lucky" to have the backing of his fiancée Tobi Rose, who supported his decision to join the show even though they had recently welcomed a baby.

He said: "When they asked me to do the show, it was a decision, because we obviously knew baby was coming.

"So we had a big discussion about it, but she was like, 'This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"You've got to do it.'

"She's been just absolutely amazing.

"I feel incredibly lucky to be doing this and to have such an amazing person at home."

Mr Best also revealed he’s dancing to "avenge" his Big Brother co-host AJ Odudu, who was forced to withdraw from the 2021 Strictly final due to injury.

He said: "I'm doing it for her.

"I'm trying to avenge her for her unfortunate injury.

"AJ came to the first live show and just before we went out one of the production team came running in with a card – she'd written me a lovely good luck message.

"It's nice knowing I've got friends who've been through the process and are now in my corner."

Despite the fun, the presenter said the show hasn’t been without its aches and pains.

He said: "We can't get away from the fact I'm a middle-aged man and I forget that.

"Then I'm reminded of it when I try to do a slut drop."
