INGLETON Scout leaders have been doing their bit to help the community.
When the Ingleton Parish Council and Ingleton Rural Community Association Covid - 19 Response Team was formed, the Ingleton leaders offered their services as volunteers and they were quickly given the job of delivering flyers to the outlying communities and caravan sites of Thornton and Westhouse, armed with sanitiser and protective gloves, and keeping a good distance apart.
To keep the youth members active during the lockdown, they are being encouraged to try out the huge range of Scout Association activities. In addition, fun projects and badgework tasks are being created by local leaders including all ages making competition shields for the now postponed St George’s Day celebrations, Cubs are making rainbow cards to send to isolated members of the community, Scouts have had a makeshift camp in the comfort of their own homes and Explorers have been sent activity packs to help towards badgework.
