A SETTLE man who was due to be sentenced today after admitting assaulting emergency workers during a violent incident in the town has had his case at Bradford Crown Court adjourned to January 6 for further reports.
Kevan Michael McGrail, 54, of Delaney Court, pleaded guilty last month at York Magistrates to three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, making threats to kill, three counts of criminal damage to vehicles, possession of an offensive weapon - a long claw hammer - and possession of cannabis.
Officers were called to a disturbance at Delaney Court at around 8.30pm on October 25 when they were met by McGrail.
Officers used PAVA spray and taser to control the 54 year old, but he continued to make threats and forced the officers away before following them out onto the street while carrying a hammer.
Police said following the incident two police vehicles and a parked car were damaged before McGrail was eventually restrained and placed under arrest. He remains on remand.
