MYSTERY surrounds the identities of the people on this photograph, except for one - Walter Rishworth, second from the right, is the father of Jean Dixon, who submitted it.

Mrs Dixon, of St Mary's Avenue, Barnoldswick, thinks that it was taken some time in the 1930s, though its location is more apparent, she says - on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal at High Farnhill on what is commonly known as the Milkin Hill Bridge. "None of the remaining members of our family know anything more than this," Mrs Dixon says. Any further information would be most welcome.
