CRAVEN’S youngsters have done themselves, their schools and colleges as well as their communities proud once again this year with outstanding A-Level, GCSE and diploma course results across the board.

For them to achieve so much after the disruption to their studies over the past 18 months is an understatement, but they did it.

Some are going into higher education with a side plate of sport - one young man has his hopes pinned on being a basketball star.

Another is reaching for a career in high places as he looks towards a career in aviation.

Whatever their chosen paths, they have a choice of top quality places to progress to A-levels or further afield to college or university if they wish.

They are the generation of the future and if their determination to succeed in the face of the pandemic has anything to go by, they will certainly do well in whatever they decide to do.

County Councillor Patrick Mulligan, North Yorkshire’s Executive Member for Education and Skills has reiterated that what the students have gone through over the past two years has been unprecedented.

He says he wants to congratulate each and every one of them, and so do we.
