LAST Tuesday, I was given a Winter newsletter from the market superintendent, which was handed out to all the traders who turn up every Tuesday (in all weathers) to sell their wares in Settle Market Place.
It was a lovely ‘thank you’ letter too. Steve should be thanked for all the hard work he puts in setting up the stalls etc.
Well, I think Settle Town Council also deserves a big thank you.
The lights wrapped round the town hall look great, as do all the other ones spread around the town.
Also, we should thank them for the beautiful Christmas tree with its lovely orange baubles which look like huge tangerines.
Thanks too should go the many shops, hotels and businesses for their contributions towards the cost of the tree.
In these dire times, we are lucky to have a council who still want to cheer the place up for everyone. Sadly, some families will not be celebrating Christmas, due to the Covid virus.
Let us all hope and pray that a New Year will bring some happiness, peace and that it will be Covid free.
