WITH all the current disquiet and unrest in national politics and the resignations yesterday of Savid Javid and Rishi Sunak following more revelations of yet more lies and deceit from Boris Johnson and number 10 it occurs to me there is a great deal of discontent in the Conservative party.

Many feel that Johnson should go and rightly so. The PM wouldn’t recognise the truth if it bit him on the backside. He is a consummate liar as has been demonstrated many times and worse still he believes all of us are taken in by his fairy stories and takes us all for fools. This may have worked in the 1920’s or 1930’s when people were less informed and less educated but it won’t work now.

I expect Johnson to fight all the way. He has no scruples and no respect for the truth. He will rely on the continuing support of other disillusioned ministers and back benchers who are hanging on to keep their jobs as long as they can.

I wonder whether Julian Smith MP supports the Prime Minister or whether he considers that he should resign. Our member of parliament always seems to keep his head well below the parapet and is seldom seen commenting on any policy matters or on the current happenings in parliament.

We voted him into his seat and we should be made aware that he is acting in the constituency’s interests.
