Bronte Wheelers-Neophix ‘pedalling pensioners’ Brenda Tate and Heather Sanderson enjoyed medal success at the Masters World Track Championships at Manchester Velodrome.
Coming up against some of the best cyclists in the world, Brenda won gold in the points race and individual sprint race, also taking silver in the scratch event.
Heather, following up on her triumphs in Sydney where she won two golds, took bronze in the points race and also in the individual pursuit. Both riders from the Keighley club showed great courage in overcoming a mass pile-up in the scratch race to pick themselves up and still win medals.
Coincidently, it is over 30 years since Brenda was the national road race and track champion.
