ALWOODLEY and Woodhouse will have competition when they seek re-election to the Aire-Wharfe League at the league's council meeting at Otley Rugby Union Football Club next Tuesday (8pm).
Up against them are three clubs – East Leeds from the Central Yorkshire League and Wetherby League duo Old Modernians and St Chad's Broomfield.
Meanwhile, Beckwithshaw have proposed that fielding circles be introduced.
They state: "Only four fielders, excluding the wicket-keeper and bowler, be allowed in a circle to be trialled in all first XI league matches."
Knaresborough want juniors to be loaned out to play in lesser leagues.
They state: "Aire-Wharfe clubs are permitted to loan bonafide junior players (up to and including under-19s) out to clubs in other lesser cricket leagues.
"Any player loaned to another club can be recalled by the parent club to play in first or second-team matches on a Saturday without the need for a transfer form.
"Agreement with the other league and its clubs will be sought by the Aire-Wharfe League club wishing to loan the player."
Beckwithshaw also propose that a programme of matches be played on a bank holiday, as happened this year with the Tour de France, which will allow for a free weekend halfway through the season.
"This will allow players to plan well in advance with family, friends and be able to book holidays without missing a game, which should increase the overall commitment of players throughout the season."
