SKIPTON'S Ella Bardgett was a double winner in the Bradford & District Amateur Swimming Association gala at Shipley.
She powered to victory in the girls 9/10 years 100 metres backstroke in a fine time of 1:27:33 and also triumphed in the 100m freestyle.
Ella qualified with a heat time of 1:19:03 and though she was marginally slower in the final with a time of 1:19:34, it was good enough to seal victory.
He colleague Hermione Roe was third after recording a time of 1:26:21 which was again slightly down on her heat time of 1:26:01.
Fenn Curran was another winner. He came first in the boys 11 years 100m freestyle in 1:16:70s.
There was a strong performance from Megan Baines in the girls 12 years 100m breaststroke where she finished second in 1:27:18.
Skipton had two swimmers qualify for the final of the boys 12 years 100m breaststroke. Matthew Housley clocked 1:33:44 to come second with Alfie Weston finishing fourth in 1:38:29.
Bradley Brennand had the misfortune to be disqualified for moving at the start of the boys 9/10 years 100m breaststroke.
