NATIONAL record holder Chris Brown helped Yorkshire retain their ASA National Masters Inter-County title at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds.
The City of Bradford member from Sutton-in-Craven, who is part of the Bradford Aquatics competition programme, won the 50 metres backstroke – his favoured event – in 32.58sec as Yorkshire gained a convincing victory.
They totalled 177 points, ahead of Cheshire (108) and Northumberland and Durham (104), but elsewhere Yorkshire had a 53-point advantage over runners-up Warwickshire, with Hampshire taking the bronze.
Also representing Yorkshire in Leeds were Bradford officials Aileen Ibbotson, Christine McCabe and David Alexander.
