THE penultimate round in Settle's Winter League took place on Sunday with the players enjoying the Stableford format.

Despite the considerable amount of snowfall throughout the week the course was in excellent condition.

The outstanding performance was produced by the lowest-handicapped player on the day,

Dennis Holt, whose 35 points gave him an easy victory over his Division One rivals.

In Division Two, Peter Wroe continued his impressive run of form scoring 34 points, which was just enough to hold off the challenge of John Holliday and Sam Wilcock.

With just the one competition left to play, Peter Morton looks favourite to take the Division One title, while in Division Two, John Holliday looks to have an unassailable lead.
