SKIPTON slipped a step closer to relegation to Aire-Wharfe League Division Three with a six-wicket defeat to relegation rivals Leeds Modernians on Saturday.

With four players dismissed for ducks, Skipton were all out for 104 - Stuart Borrill and Mansoor Hussain each claiming five wickets while only conceding 25 and 23 runs respectively.

Leeds' chase started poorly when Hussain was out for a duck, but steady, double-figure scores from his five teammates who followed meant a comfortable win, even with the impressive bowling of Skipton's Gary Owens (3-16).

Addingham are not mathematically safe yet either after Adel defeated them emphatically to clinch promotion to the top flight.

A 208-run win saw them go up in style, with Jan-Harm Moolman scoring a massive 157 while captain James Dobson impressed with 77.

Moolman's bowling performance then ensured the win, with him taking six wickets and conceding just four runs to have Addingham all out for 71.

Steeton, meanwhile, remain comfortably in mid-table despite Follifoot making light work of them at the weekend.

The visitors are still chasing promotion, and were ruthless in their display as they had Steeton all out for 83 - only John Akrigg, Jake Starkey and Gary Boulton getting out of single figures on the bats.

That was after an impressive 56 from skipper Paul Angrove as they set a target of 178 that was out of the hosts' reach, despite Boulton's best efforts of 3-26 to thwart them.
