Senior Skipton swimmers travelled to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield last weekend to compete in the second stage of the Yorkshire Championships Winter Competition.

The club continued its run of success and produced some fine results as all the swimmers performed well across all the events in the older age groups.

Over the two days, 14 athletes aged between 13 and 18 competed in a total of 75 races and between them achieved 25 top-ten final.

The most memorable performances of the weekend came from 13-year-old Paige Fenton.

She won a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke with a time of 32.45 seconds. She made the finals seven of her eight events.

Hannah Raistrick, 15, picked up the bronze medal in the 50m freestyle with a time of 27.58. She also made the finals in a further three events.

Matthew Kenneth, 15, made the finals in four of his events. He came fifth in 100m breaststroke, seventh in the 50m breaststroke and 100m butterfly and ninth in the 200m individual medley.

Sixteen-year-old Ethan Camsey was sixth in the 50m backstroke, seventh in the 100m backstroke and ninth in the 200m individual medley.

Lauren Hanson, 18, came fifth in 50m butterfly and seventh in the 50m breaststroke.

Madison Turner, 13, came fifth in the 50m backstroke and seventh in the 100m backstroke.

Ellen Wright aged, 14 was seventh in the 50m breaststroke and 15-year-old Joel Philip came tenth in 50m butterfly.
