LEAGUE leaders Settle United were certainly tested by visitors Rolls in their Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division Cup quarter-final.

The fifth-placed club held the front-runners to 2-2 by half-time and only lost 4-3 as United booked a semi-final at Trawden Celtic.

Braces by Tom Strickland and substitute Matt Simpson were enough to get Settle over the line, with replies coming from Dominic Craig (2) and Joel Duerden.

In the league, Grassington United have climbed to third in the top flight on the back of a 6-1 home thrashing of seventh-placed Pendle Renegades.

United had six different scorers – Ian Craven, Reece Fowler, Peter Messenger, Jan Ozdoba, Jack Schindler and substitute Fred Midgley – with man of the match Matthew Nutter replying in the 85th minute.

Lee Guilfoyle was the gong winner for Grassington.

Bradley are up to sixth in Division One after a 3-2 home win over struggling Hellifield Sports.

Jordan Blackburn, man of the match Ben Ramsden and Joe Stapleton were on target for Bradley, who leap-frogged Broomhill.

Matthew Beckwith bagged a brace for Hellifield, whose man of the match was Will Leeming.

Ninth-placed Barlick Wanderers have notched only their third league win in Division Two, beating fourth-placed visitors Grassington United Reserves 4-3.

Dan Holden (2), Tom Duerden and Matthew Shirt were the Wanderers marksmen, with Nicky Wright (2) and Anton Parkinson replying.

Respective men of the match were Sam Walsh (Wanderers) and John Allan.

AFC Barnoldswick moved up a place to sixth after a 3-1 home win over fifth-placed Ilkley Town Junior Men's Academy.

Callum Uttley (2) and Luke Scott were on target for Barnoldswick, whose man of the match was Chris Wood.

In Division Three, leaders Burnley Belvedere lost 2-0 at Iplay FC Barrowford, meaning that Bingley Town, Carleton and Settle United are now the only unbeaten teams in the league.
