ZEBEDEE Heys produced a stunning performance for Skipton Swimming Club earlier this month at the Hydro in Harrogate to secure 10 A Grade medals, including three golds.

He won in the 100m and 200m freestyle events that he entered, as well as the 200m backstroke.

Charlotte Leigh was the top female performer. She achieved three gold medals, winning the 50m butterfly and breaststroke as well as the 200m individual medley.

Skipton’s younger swimmers made a huge splash in general. Over the two day meet, 24 swimmers competed in a total of 115 races and between them clocked up an impressive 106 personal best times.

The medal haul was equally impressive, with Skipton winning 31 A Grade top three medal positions and 23 B Grade top three medal positions.

Some of the swimmers were also delighted to achieve Yorkshire County qualifying times and the much-sought after North East Regional qualifying times.

Apart from Heys and Leigh, the other A and B Grade gold medallists were: Hebe Picking, Sam King, Lily Mae Pratt, Harry Kaminski, Lily Long- Prior, Keelan Behan, Harry Cockburn, Archie Appleby and Max Shillito.

The younger swimmers are now looking forward to competing in the club's third and final event of the 2017/18 Stepping Stones time trials at Craven pool, in conjunction with Settle Stingrays this weekend.

The experienced squad swimmers travel to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield at the beginning of May to compete in the first weekend of the North East Regionals at the SENE Open Championships (50m) 2018.
