THREE Skipton Swimming Club members will be heading to compete at British and English National Championships in Sheffield.

Ned Sharp, from Hellifield, will be returning to the British Championships this year to defend his 15 years' age group 50-metre butterfly title.

He will also be looking to extend his success in the 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle in which he was narrowly beaten by Edward Mildred from the Northampton club last year.

Sharp will also be looking to extend his range of distances by competing in the English national championships in the 200m freestyle, where he will be joined by fellow Skipton swimmers Paige Fenton and Madison Turner.

The two Skipton girls and training partners have worked hard this year to gain qualification at a national level.

Fenton, from Silsden, will compete in the full range of breaststroke events at 50, 100 and 200m following her success at a north eastern regional level.

Turner, from Salterforth, has been breaking long-standing club records from a line of successful Skipton national backstroke swimmers in competing in the 200m event.
