VISITORS Embsay had struggled to 120 all out against Hepworth & Idle in Division One of the Mewies Craven Cricket League, with Ben Keane (36) top scoring as Don Wooler took 3-4.

However, the home side collapsed to 42-8 after Elliot Stockton (4-29) and Haroon Ali (3-30) ran riot among the top order.

The remaining batsmen dug in though and pushed the score to 82-9 when a deluge halted the game at the last.

Meanwhile, Barrowford dismissed visitors Sutton for 124, with Richard Walker (52no) top scoring. They reached 13 without loss in reply before storms put paid to any further play.

In Division Two, Cowling were at home to Haworth Road II who, going first, were on 142-5 when the rain arrived.

The no result means the hosts have now lost top spot to Foulridge, who beat Eldwick & Gilstead, in a low-scoring thriller.

Third-placed Gargrave had Glusburn 103-5, with Mark Johnston on 40no, before play was cancelled for the day.

Long Lee racked up 242-9 at home to Cononley, as Paul Hogg claimed 4-50 with a fine display of bowling.

The visitors raced to 130 without loss in their reply, with Under-18 Cameron Knowles hitting 17 fours and a six in his 94no but sadly the weather curtailed his knock.

Division Three leaders Barrowford II travelled to Sutton II and reduced them to 70-7. However, the rain saved the hosts, giving them their first point of the season.

The scores between Haworth II (123-8) and Skipton CI (123) finished level, but the game was a draw, not a tie, due to each side facing a different number of overs.

For the latter, Ian Henderson (44) and Danyal Iqbal (3-36, including a hat-trick) were the stars, while Charlie Shimmin (5-40) performed well for Haworth.

Bradley hammered 341-4 at Thornton with David Hunt making 131, including 13 sixes, and Craig Tempest 105no. The rain arrived before the hosts could reply.

Meanwhile, there was no play in the game between Embsay II and Hepworth & Idle II.

Silsden are two points off the summit in Division Four. Hugh Sugden (31) and Andy Pullen (29no) helped them to 137-8 at home to Cowling II, who did not get a chance to respond.

During the game, a Cowling player was hit as the sight screen was blown over by wind. Thankfully he suffered only concussion.

Foulridge II are three points off the summit after drawing at home to Bradley II. The hosts made 250-4 before declaring after Zaheer Abbas made a super 130. The visitors closed on 56-2.

Airedale II posted 216-8 at Gargrave II. Adam Madgett (89) starred with the bat while Will Storr (4-46) was the pick of the bowlers. The home side had reached 20-3 before the weather set in.

Michael Beer made 45 in Cononley II's 139-6 against Long Lee II, who did not have an opportunity to reply.

There was no play between Bingley Congs and Glusburn II, while Wilsden II conceded to Skipton CI II.
