THIS Sunday sees the Wynn Cup final return to one of the more picturesque grounds in the league, Gargrave. Embsay take on Haworth Road in a match that starts at 1pm.
The former are featuring in their first final since 2004, when they lost by nine wickets to Oakworth at Cononley, and are a mixture of youth and experience this time around.
In the batting, Dave Wellock, Elliot Stockton, Ben Keane and John Golson are all capable of making a big score.
On the bowling front, they have Haroon Ali, Stockton, Phil Binner and Scott Robinson who can get among the wickets. The side is skippered by Binner.
Meanwhile, Haworth Road are figuring in their second final, have beaten Oakworth in 1979. They have a very good batting line up with Muhammad Zahid, Deepal Dissanayake and Will Burgess in good nick at present.
With the ball, Naveed Hussain, Rob Greenwood and Zahid are also in good form. They also have the unpredictable Zahir Abbas, who can turn a game with either bat or ball.
Sadly, they will be without their skipper Andy Gudgeon who is away on holiday, although Omar Khatab will make his comeback from suspension after being banned following the fractious semi-final with Barrowford.
Khatab's return could prove key to Haworth Road's chances. When these teams met in the league on July 7, he blasted an unbeaten 96 as his side won by 30 runs.
