THINGS are hotting up at the top of Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One as both leading sides lost and Oakworth won, closing the gap to two points.

Leaders Barrowford were at Embsay and managed 129, with Sam Arkwright (4-23) and Elliot Stockton (3-49) getting among the wickets.

Then Stockton (53no) and John Golson (38no) saw the Shires Lane side to the points by eight wickets.

Bingley Congs were at Sutton, with both sides missing key players.

Congs found themselves 81-7 before some tail wagging got them up to 134 as Richard Walker (3-27) and James Mcdonald (3-33) were the best bowlers.

Dave Snowden (47) and 'Mr Extras' (41) were the top scorers for the Royd Hill side, who won by seven wickets.

In Division Two, Foulridge are four points clear at the top after demolishing Cowling at Noyna in their top-of-the- table clash.

The hosts posted 158 as Jalal Khan took 4-47 and there were three-wicket hauls for Josh Gill and Ajmal Choudhry. The Coliseum side were then shot out for a paltry 29 in 21.2 overs, with Mohammed Shah Usman making 13.

Gargrave are a further four points behind.

John Beckwith (65) and Chris Lambert (70) put on 120 for the second wicket as the Skipton Road side posted 184. Visitors Chatburn replied with 133, with Beckwith taking 4-24.

Cameron Knowles (91) was in the runs again for Cononley, who made 170 at home to Glusburn, with Mark Pickles (4-32) and Mo Furqan (3-42) among the wickets.

After an opening stand of 49 from Steve Brown (31) and Neil Freeman (23), the Park Field slumped to 87 all out, with Tim Feather (5-27) and Herbie Starkey (3-36) doing most of the damage.
