JACS Merit Division One champions Colne Cricket Club completed their season with a 10-2 win at local rivals Colne Legion A.

They finished with 161 points after securing 15 wins and three defeats, which left them 26 points clear of second-placed Cononley A who rounded off their programme with a 9-3 win over Crosshills A.

Keighley A took third place while Broughton Road A and Colne Legion A were relegated.

The average winner was Dean Brown of Colne Cricket Club with + 8.69 after 14 victories in his 16 games.

League newcomer Danny Teale of Silsden was runner up with + 8.13 after 15 wins and just one defeat.

Division Two saw last season's relegated teams make a swift return to the top flight.

Sutton A and Settle A proved to be to strong for the opposition.

Sutton A completed the season with just one defeat in their 18 games, finishing with 143 points after averaging eight points per game.

They were 29 points clear of Settle A and will make their presence felt in division one next season.

Settle A finished the season well to confirm promotion before a disappointing last game defeat at Sutton B.

Oxenhope returned to the league this season and did well to finish third.

It was a disappointing campaign for Lund Park A who recorded just four wins and join Devonshire B 47 – who struggled all season with lack of players – in Division Three next season. The averages saw the top three places filled by Sutton A players Andrew Tate + 10.29, Billy Cater + 9.67 and Peter Hepworth + 9.27. Cater and Hepworth remained undefeated in 15 games.

Craven A had another strong season in Division Three as they completed back to back promotions.

It was a close-run thing with Colne Legion B finishing just four points behind them, while Keighley B were a further seven points adrift.

Cononley B won only three matches and now find themselves in Division Four along with Crosshills B.

The villagers second team have struggled for players over the past few years, but this is not just a Cononley problem,

The Skipton area does not seem to be a hotbed for Crown Green Bowls, a recruitment drive is going to be required if the game is to continue in the coming years.

Craven A skipper Mick Demain finished the season with five good wins to top the averages with + 8.18, second was team-mate Rob Ellis + 8.13.

Grassington will return to Division Three after last season's relegation, but second place is not yet known, due to postponements.

Whinfield B look to have the best chance of picking up second place, while their skipper David Hudson heads the averages at the moment.

The Walker Foster Division One saw Keighley A retain the title with 792 points. They remained unbeaten all season with 15 wins and three draws.

Cononley A picked second place with 728 points, while Sutton A were third.

Settle A and Lund Park A filled the relegation places.

In Division Two last season's relegated teams finished top of the pile.

Silsden Playing Fields A took the top spot with 629 points, while Crosshills A 609 points filled the runners-up place.

Third place is held by Whinfield A 587 points at present but Rolls Royce 557 points, have a rearranged game to play and could get enough points to sneak ahead.

Just as in the Merit League it is more relegation trouble for Crosshills B and Cononley B.

Craven A continue their all-conquering season as they won Skipton Building Society Division Three.

They finished the season in first place with 622 points, which was a second-successive promotion.

Colne Legion B once again finished runners up with 611 points, while Silsden PF B 576 points finished third. Steeton B and Gargrave C occupied the relegation places.

Settle B had a good season in Division Four finishing as they finished top with 478 points. Newcomers Rolls Royce B picked up a promotion place with 449 points.

The Skipton Hire Centre Clarkson Cup final will take place tonight at Addingham.

Sutton A (35) take on Rolls Royce (75), while the Supplementary Final between Cononley A (10) and Whinfield B (115) will be at Colne Legion.
