SKIPTON juniors are the 2018 champions in the Bradford & District Union of Golf Clubs Junior League Division One.
They won 14 of their 24 matches, drawing three and losing seven to secure 31 points.
The team's final match was at Bradford Hawksworth, where Harry Ayrton lost 2 and 1, Ben Topper halved on the 18th and Frazer Clarke won 3 and 1. Bingley, with a match in hand, were unable to overhaul Skipton.
It proved to be a very good team effort all season long, with Harry Ayrton the outstanding player, winning all bar one match, his last, playing in top slot.
Six players have represented Skipton Juniors and while the club will now lose half of them on account of age, a number of young up-and-coming players have gained valuable match experience, boding well for next season's title defence.
The club's drive with juniors through PGA-qualified professional Ben Mallinson is producing emerging talent that will help the junior section at representative level in the future.
