FARSLEY Celtic made it one defeat in their last seven games after they defeated Bamber Bridge 3-2 in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division, with all the goals coming in the first-half.

Bamber Bridge took the lead in the 10th minute through a Brad Carsley header.

Farsley’s response was a swift as Adam Clayton rose the highest to grab the equaliser on 13 minutes. But Carsley fired home his second five minutes later.

The action continued right to the end of the half, when from a free-kick, the Celts were awarded a penalty for handball in the first minute of time added-on.

Will Hayhurst stepped up but had his spot-kick saved by Bridge goalkeeper Ollie Byrne, but the Celts forward was able to bury the rebound to make it 2-2.

The drama wasn’t over and, as the half moved into the fifth minute of time added-on, Farsley had a free-kick on the right edge of the box. Hayhurst took it and curled it beautifully into the corner to give the Celts a 3-2 advantage which they hung onto in the second period.

Meanwhile, Brighouse Town were forced to take a share of the spoils after conceding a 93rd-minute penalty.

Town moved third in Evo-Stik League Division One East following a 1-1 draw at Cleethorpes Town.

Ousman Cham's cross was met by Jack Normanton who converted at the far post for Brighouse on 18 minutes.

But their hopes of victory were shattered when Cleethorpes striker Scott Vernon converted the injury-time spot-kick.
