SKIPTON Swimming Club brought 24 medals and recorded 76 personal best times in the Bradford Grassroots Invitational Meet at Shipley Swimming Pool on Sunday.

Some of Skipton's youngest swimmers competed at the meet to better their times or gain new times to add to their ASA rankings.

Skipton Swimming Club was one of eight clubs to be invited to the meet along with Bingley, Bradford Dolphins, Bradford, Brighouse, Halifax and Ilkley.

Bradley Brennand earned eight gold medals for Skipton. Also taking home gold for the club were Joseph Greening (2), Henry Walker (2), Harry Cockburn, Rita Box, Ruby Bryne and Archie Appleby.

Joe Greening won a silver medal while Spencer Cook (2), Evie Eccles (2), Harry Forrest, Bradley Brennand, Beatrice Walker and Ruby Bryne all won bronze.

'Speeding tickets' were awarded to Harry Forrest (3), Harris Thompson (2), James West, Archie Appleby and Joseph Greening.

Overall, Skipton swimmers took home 76 personal best times out of 94 swims.

"Well done to all our Skipton swimmers who competed on Sunday," said senior coach Becky Lund. "Some of our swimmers were new to competing at official meets and were swimming for new ASA official times. We had some brilliant swims from our younger swimmers."
