A PROMISING young Wharfedale player has been named National League Two North Player of the Week.
Ben Blackwell, who plays at centre for the Greens, received the accolade after his fantastic performance in Wharfedale's upset victory against league leaders Hull Ionians.
"Ben played as an eighth man in the pack," said Feeley. "He has a high skill level and is quick. He effectively won the battle against Lewis Minikin, Yorkshire's starting number 13."
Blackwell's development this season has not gone unrecognised by Wharfedale's coaches.
Early in the season, when the first team had a blank weekend, Feeley travelled over to Harrogate to watch the Foresters play.
Blackwell, who had put in some good performances for the Foresters, caught Feeley's attention, who praised him for his play in the game.
Shortly thereafter, Blackwell started in the first team and has been a regular player in the side the last few weeks.
