SKIPTON Swimming Club put in some impressive performances to win the Airedale and Wharfedale District Winter Gala at Shipley Pool on Saturday.
Skipton competed against five other local clubs and teams consisted of girls and boys from the eight, nine and 10 year age groups, as well as under-12s, under-14s and open age group.
Skipton's senior coach Becky Lund said: "We faced some strong competition up against Bradford Swimming Club, however our swimmers managed to win the overall gala."
The final scores were: Skipton – 262, Bradford Swimming Club - 183, Bingley – 162, Kippax – 155, Bradford Dolphins – 135 and Aireborough - 120.
At the end of the night there was a Mixed 8 x1 Cannon where the fastest girl/boy in each age group would join to make a team and compete to win the trophy.
Skipton's Cannon team featured Amelia Redfearn, Joe Greening, Lily-Mae Pratt, Sam Smith, Maisie Dunne, Harvey Pennington, Madison Turner and Archie Minto.
Overall Skipton won the Mixed Cannon with a time of 1.54.33 to take home the trophy.
Lund also thanked head coach Ian Scrivin for making the teams and team managers Vicki Turner, Amanda Burgees and Lesley Adamson and timekeepers Jamie Forrest and Matt Eccles for their efforts.
