JOHN Holliday posted a 'round to dream about' to win Sunday's Winter League medal at Settle Golf Club.

The in-form Peter Wroe looked a likely winner again, posting an excellent net 71.

Chris Ward pushed him close but had to settle for a net 72 despite having the lower gross total.

The later starters generally struggled to match Wroe's target, but Holliday produced one of those outstanding rounds that most of us can only dream about.

Holliday, after a moderate front nine, hit a rich vein of form over the back nine which resulted in him coming home with a net 65.

In the winter league competition which has just two events left, John Read holds a slender two-point lead over Wroe.

Having missed this week's medal, Read will be looking to cement his position over the remaining matches.
