CHRIS Wademan came off the bench to bag a brace that steered Silsden to a 2-0 win in their roses derby against Padiham.
It marked a North West Counties League Premier Division double for Danny Forrest’s men after they won the reverse fixture 4-1 across the Lancashire border in the first month of the campaign.
There was no four-goal haul at the Cobbydale Construction Stadium though, in what was a tight game.
There were few talking points in a goalless first half. In fact, the deadlock wasn’t broken until the 77th minute when substitute Wademan beat visiting keeper Henry Bunting-Jones.
Silsden were awarded a penalty 11 minutes later and Wademan again beat Bunting-Jones, this time from 12 yards.
Steeton went goal crazy in Division One North as they rattled half a dozen past relegation-threatened Daisy Hill after the visitors had taken an early lead.
Joe Hepple put the visitors 1-0 ahead in the 11th minute but the Chevrons equalised when Sam Rooke headed home from a 29th minute corner.
After finding their scoring touch, Steeton led 3-1 the break. Angus Maney put them in front, slotting in across Daisy’s keeper Joe Leather, and Ben Clarkson headed a third.
Jack Richmond assisted the fourth, his through ball setting up Clarkson, before bagging himself a late brace.
Richmond gave Leather no chance as he rifled a shot into the top corner and he made it 6-1 when he latched onto a ball over the visitors’ defence.
